Staunton First Christian Church News

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by worship service at 10:30.

Doug Parkey is the minister.

If you need transportation to morning worship service, please phone the church office at 446-3211.

The bus is wheelchair equipped.

Children's Church and Wee Worship meet at 10:30 a.m., in the Educational Building.

Sunday evening service is at 6 p.m.

Wednesday evening Bible Study and Prayer Group meet at 7 p.m.

The group is starting a new study titled, "A Survey of the New Testament."

The Christian Fellowship Club will meet for lunch at Pizza Hut in Brazil Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 11:30 a.m.

We were blessed to witness the baptism of Madelene Sinders last Sunday morning.

We also want to welcome her parents Darby and Kathy Sinders into our fellowship.

It was also a blessing to have J.D. and Sophia Buell come forward to reaffirm their faith.

Thanks to Joan Bowman and Peggy Ward for their duet last Sunday.

Staunton United Methodist Church News

Sunday worship service begins at approximately 10:45 a.m.

Our pastor is Scott Aselage.

Happy belated birthday to my great-niece Julie Dawson, who celebrated her birthday July 31.

Remember the Community Food Pantry is open in the church basement from 3-5 p.m., on the last Wednesday afternoon of each month.

The next food pantry day will be Wednesday, Aug. 29.

Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome.

We appreciate the support of all the churches, schools, civic organizations and individuals who help make this needed outreach a success.

We want to repeat our sincere thanks to our friends at Staunton First Christian Church for their Vacation Bible School collection of 765 packaged and canned food items for the food pantry.

Please keep praying for everyone who is battling illness, as well as all the brave men and women of our military and their families.

Also, remember in prayer all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals and those who have lost loved ones.

Go out of your way to be kind to someone and pray for everyone.
