UPDATE: 12-inch line breaks, boil order issued.

Sunday, August 5, 2012

Officials with the City of Brazil reported a 12-inch water main broke Sunday at Pinckley and Walnut streets.

The report stated customers affected should only be those who live south of Pinckley, east to State Road 59, west to Sherman, and north to National Avenue.

However, officials stated they were not sure how long the customers may be without water.

Because of this, water customers in Brazil, Knightsville, Harmony, Carbon and Center Point are on a boil order until further notice.

Officials told The Brazil Times late Sunday the line was clamped at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Some customers, depending on where they were located, may have started seeing low water pressure later in the day.

However, the boil order was still issued until further notice.

Does anyone know how long the low water pressure will last?

Does anybody know if the heat caused this crack or a vehicle by chance.
