He was born April 7, 1924, in Wynoose, Ill., as the son of Wm. N. and Celia Dugan Miller.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Virgie Marlene Sheese, who has preceded him in death.
He was employed as a steel worker for 20 years and had also worked as a farmer.
He was a life member of AmVets, V.F.W. and the American Legion, and was also a member of the Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Virgie, sister Vera Cummins, brother Orville Miller, grandson Brian Hayden, granddaughter Chasta Higgins, great-grandson Michael Hayden and son-in-law Ernie Chesshir.
He is survived by sons Larry Miller (Loretta), Michael Rambo (Beverly) and Roger Rambo, daughters Fonda Chesshir, Sandy Haltom (Jerry), Donna McMullin (Charle), and Barbara Skene (Mike), sister Lyla Amthor, Florida, 22 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and other extended family.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 9, at Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, with burial to follow at Garrard Chapel Cemetery, Owen County.
