Church hosts school clothing exchange

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

With school starting and families finding it difficult to budget money to outfit their growing children and purchase school supplies, people should consider checking out the Community Partners Clothes Exchange.

The event will take place at Brazil First Church of the Nazarene, 1002 E. National Ave., Brazil, Monday, Aug. 13.

Families who are able to donate are asked to come from 8:30-10 a.m., that morning to drop off clothing.

Those who donate may return from 11 a.m.-noon, to pick out clothing for their family.

Everyone (whether they donate or not) is invited to come from 1-3 p.m., to choose from the clothing as well.

A representative from the Children's Bureau, Inc., will be on hand to provide more information on the program and various local resources.

Brazil First Church of the Nazarene's BRAZ NAS KIDZ KLOZET has helped put together the event.

For every item a family donates or exchanges, a total will be placed on a "Blue Buck," which will allow those individuals to get that number of items during donor time.

Items that are going to be donated and/or exchanged must be washed and folded to save time the day of the event. Any items that are left over will be donated to area clothing closets and/or food pantries.

For more information, call Heather Campbell at 812-230-9200.
