Merry Richardson, 67, Brazil, passed away on Aug. 14, 2012, at Union Hospital, following a long battle with COPD, with her family by her side.

Merry was born Dec. 8, 1944, the daughter of Hardy Langley and Ruby (White) Langley. She was raised in Morgan County and then moved to Clay County in the 1980's. She was a nurse's aide and a homemaker.

Merry attended General Assembly and Church of the First Born in Brazil.

Merry was an avid doll collector, where she would fix and repair them and also make their clothing. She was gifted at taking care of people in need. She enjoyed listening to music, more specifically Blue Grass and Country, watching older movies and cooking. She took great pride in family gatherings, especially around Christmas where she was known for making her famous fruit bread, cookies and cheesecake.

Merry was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sharon Harmon, infant brother Wesley Langley, brother-in-law Rick Adams, sister-in-law Mickey Langley, and two infant grandchildren.

She is survived by son Albert "Butch" Richardson III, North Dakota, daughter Jeannette Swaim, Brazil, grandchildren Amber Modesitt (TJ), Abbi Gail Matlock, Brad Swaim, Zachary Richardson and David Richardson, great-grandchildren Christopher, Cameron, Brayden and Anna, brothers Rick Langley (Jeanne), Brazil, Buster Langley (Elvita), Texas, Buddy Langley (Patti), West Baden, Ind., Dusty Langley (Kathy), Center Point, sisters Roseanne Jensen, Center Point, Carol Post (Larry), Brazil, and Betty Walker (Doyle), Texas, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.

Service for Merry will be Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at 11 a.m., at French Funeral Home with Brother Thomas Nation and Brother Paul Branham officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, from 4-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
