PUTNAM-MORGAN COUNTIES -- On Tuesday, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced a resurfacing project on Interstate-70 would close ramps at United States 231 during the course of the next few days to mill and resurface the ramps.
According to INDOT officials, crews plan the following schedule for closures:
* Aug. 23 -- 6 p.m.-11 a.m. on Aug. 24 (U.S. 231 on ramp to eastbound I-70),
* Aug. 25 -- 7 a.m.-8 p.m. (eastbound I-70 off ramp to U.S. 231), and
* Aug. 27 -- 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on Aug. 28 (U.S. 231 on ramp to eastbound I-70).
The project will resurface the interstate from U.S. 231 to Little Point.
It was awarded to Rieth-Riley Construction for $10.49 million. The project is scheduled for completion in November.
The work schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather.
