The Modern Homemakers met at the home of Wilma Modesitt for our indoor picnic.
A delicious lunch was enjoyed by all.
All gave the Pledge of Allegiance and Homemakers Creed.
All county officers were invited to eat with us.
Joy Minor, president, Barbara Miller, secretary, Ruth Haas, treasurer, Lucy Strauch, publicity chairman, Barbara Powell, song leader, and Lauralee Hawkins, advisor.
Devotions were given by Kathy Bourllez, titled, "What is Love."
Roll call was answered by your favorite fall festival.
The secretary and treasurer reports were given by Carolyn Tausig, and were approved.
The song of the month was "Bicycle Built for Two."
Barbara Miller reported on the post county fair district meeting, which will be Aug. 24, at the fairgrounds.
The meeting was closed with the Homemakers Prayer.
Members present included Kathryn Bourllez, Anna Mae Fagg, Louise Fagg, Mary Lou Farris, Helen Megenhardt, Wilma Modesitt and Carolyn Tausig.
Tri Kappa is inviting all ladies in the community to the Tri Kappa Euchre-Rama for the 2012-13 season.
The event will begin in September.
Team up with friends and join the fun. Cost to participate in the league is $25 per person. Teams play Euchre once a month, September through May.
Monthly team scores are collected and added together. Cash prizes are given at the end of the season to the top three scoring teams.
All proceeds from the league will benefit the Tri Kappa scholarships, given annually to students graduating from Northview and Clay City.
