Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority

The regular meeting of the Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority took place at 7 p.m., Aug. 21, at Kathy Modesitt's home.

The meeting was opened by Chapter President Kathy Bridgewater with the Delta Opening Ceremony and Delta Prayer.

The secretary called roll with 15 members present.

The July minutes were approved as corrected.

The treasurer's report was read. The treasurer's report will be filed subject to audit.

Total bills presented for payment for $1,335. On a motion by Jenny Ringo, the bills will be paid. We also have $100 in our Charity Gaming Account. A $500 deposit from geraniums was added to the treasury.

Reports of Committees

June Philanthropy -- Kim took laundry soap, shampoo, bath soap and clothes to the Food Pantry,

Taste Treat -- Diane made last report, expenses totaled $434.66, and profit $1,037.34. Tammy Ninesling is 2013 chairman,

Audit -- Jenny Ringo made this report for Feb. 1-May 31 audit, and

Cheeseball will be made at Jackson Township Elementary Saturday, Nov. 10, at 8 a.m. Kim will have order forms in September due back with money Oct. 16.

Old business

Diane and Janice attended the informational meeting on "Power of the Community," a United Way sponsored event to take place at North Clay Middle School Jan. 11, 2013, at 6:30 p.m.

County restaurants will be serving featured food. Tickets will be sold at local banks for $10 and a non-perishable item donation, table sponsorships will be requested along with silent auction items/baskets.

We need to come up with a donation and see how many tables we can fill.

Province Convention will be Oct. 5-7, at Hilton North Castleton. On two motions by Michelle Bell, Cindy McKinney will be our delegate and Vangie Sutherland will be the non-delegate.

Alpha Omega Alpha 75th birthday celebration will be Sept. 18, at Fellowship Hall, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Our meeting will follow the celebration.

New Business

Janice presented Michelle with her 25-year pin.

Communications

Invitation from Alpha Omicron, Terre Haute, for Karen Allen, National President's reception.

It will be Sept. 16, from 2-4 p.m., at Clabber Girl Museum.

Terri Reister, Alpha Province Chr., sent the invitation.

Karen Allen, National President, will do our visitation this fall. The date is being verified.

The next meeting will be Sept. 18, 2012, at Fellowship Hall, following the alum birthday party.

Party group is Michelle Bell and Melissa McCullough.

The meeting was closed with the Delta Closing Ceremony.
