Saline City Picnic set
SALINE CITY -- The annual Saline City Labor Day Picnic will take place Sept. 1-3, at Graves Field in Saline City, located one mile west of State Road 59 ---- 12 miles south of Brazil and five miles north of Clay City.
The picnic will offer three days of entertainment for both children and adults.
The event kicks off Saturday, Sept. 1, with the Clay City Band Booster breakfast from 7-10 a.m., at a cost of $5.
Co-ed softball games begin at 8 a.m., and Bluegrass for Billy begins on the main stage at 2 p.m.
Registration and weigh-in for Saturday's truck pull runs from 2-5:30 p.m.
The Street Truck Pull begins at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $6, and patrons are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.
The Saline City Annual Jonah Fish Fry will also take place Saturday at 4 p.m. Cost for adults is $8, and $5 for children.
Sunday's events include the Clay City Band Booster breakfast, again from 7-10 a.m., at a cost of $5.
Co-ed softball games begin again at 8 a.m. Church services begin at 10 a.m., followed by the Clay City Band Boosters chicken and noodle, pulled pork or taco salad dinner from 11 a.m.- 8 p.m. Chicken and noodles or pulled pork is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Taco salad is $4.
Bluegrass for Billy performances will take place at noon.
Fat Boy's Redneck Lawnmower Demolition Derby begins at noon and is free to the public.
A children's bunny catch begins at 3 p.m. The peddle tractor pull begins at 4 p.m., and the truck and tractor pull begins at 7p.m., with an admission price of $6. Again, patrons are asked to bring lawn chairs.
Monday's events include men's softball games at 8 a.m., a corn hole tournament at 10 a.m., Bluegrass for Billy at 11 a.m., and the Clay City Band Boosters chicken and noodle, pulled pork or taco salad dinner from 11 a.m.- 8 p.m.
Pony rides will be available Saturday and Sunday only.
Inflatable bounce houses, a dunking booth, children's games, face painting and bingo will be available every day.
There is no cost for parking or for stage entertainment, although donations are gladly accepted to help the picnic association maintain grounds and continue to offer entertainment.
No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the picnic premises.

Bluegrass for Billy will include performances by the following acts: 6 Mile, Lost River Risin', US 231, Kade Puckett, Missy Vidito, Reckon Crew, Blue Mafia, Diamond Hill Station, Cornfields and Crossroads, Jim Garber, Stateline, Birch Creek, Bud Jeffers and Louis Popejoy and The Heirs of Bluegrass. Performances will begin at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, 2 p.m., Sunday, and 12:30 p.m., Monday.
