Benefit for area youth set for Sept. 8

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

On Saturday, Sept. 8, a benefit has been scheduled for area resident Kaylee Westfall.

The event will take place at the Brazil Moose Lodge, 225 S. Depot St., Brazil. It is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., with a "Casino Night," which will feature Texas Hold 'Em, Black Jack, 50-50 drawings, raffles and door prizes.

The event will conclude at midnight.

A Fish Fry with French fries and cole slaw will take place at 4 p.m. Cost is $5.

Kaylee, 17, is the daughter of Bryan and Becky Westfall.

In June, she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a form of cancer of the white blood cells.

Currently, Kaylee is receiving chemotherapy, and her family is incurring medical and traveling expenses.

All proceeds from the Saturday benefit will go to Kaylee for medical and travel expenses. Cash donations will also be accepted.
