He was born May 12, 1939, in Brazil, the son of William Carlisle Phyne and Alberta Irene Lowrey Phyne.
He graduated from Staunton High School.
While in high school, he attended Culver Military Academy during the summer months.
He served in the Army Reserves for 6 years. He was baptized in the Presbyterian Church.
Kenny was a member of the Brazil Masonic Lodge #541, Zorah Shrine, Valley of Terre Haute and was a member of the Shrine Antique Auto Club, Brazil Elks Lodge #762 and the American Legion Post #2.
As a young man he worked in the family business, Phyne Motor Studebaker Dealership. Later, he worked for CBS, Great Dane, CVS, Elks Lodge and Reberger's Cleaners.
He loved working in his home and tending to his lawn.
He enjoyed the companionship of his beloved dog, Babe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister Sue Ann Phyne.
Survivors include his brother Ronald Phyne and wife Sandy, Terre Haute, nieces Cristin Stamper and husband David, Buffy Phyne, great-nieces Madison Phelps and Kaitlyn Woodward and special friend Mary Jane Alsip.
At his request, cremation was chosen and no services will take place.
Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Great Lakes Caring Hospice, 1208 S. 3rd St. Terre Haute, Ind., 47802, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice. Arrangements were entrusted to French Funeral Home.
