GREENCASTLE -- The Putnam County Extension Office will host a "Bridges Out of Poverty" event Oct. 3-4, at the Prindle Ethics Institute, on the campus of DePauw University.
The event will run from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., each day. Lunch will be included.
Those interested in going must attend both days.
The training gives participants key lessons in dealing with individuals from situational and generational poverty.
Participants will learn about the hidden rules of middle class and learn effective tools to help others bridge the gap from poverty to a more sustainable lifestyle.
The seminar reaches out to providers and businesses whose daily work connects them with the lives of people in poverty.
Trainers will include Extension Educators Annette Lawler, Harrison County; Karen Hinshaw, Huntington County; and Teresa Witkoske, Wabash County, all certified trainers for the Bridges Out of Poverty Curriculum.
Registrations must be filled out no later than Sept. 26.
