North Clay runners split at Greencastle

GREENCASTLE -- North Clay's cross country teams split a dual meet at Greencastle on Tuesday night as the boys won a 27-28 battle and the Tiger Cub girls claimed a 15 to 41 win.

The North Clay boys placed all five scoring runners in the top-10 led by Ryan Young's runner-up finish in 11:49. Taelur Evans was close behind with a third-place time of 11:56 and Tyler McNabb finished fifth in 12:31. Kody Smith ran to a seventh-place in 12:54 and he was followed by Tanner Batchelor in 10th (13:38), Chase McCrocklin in 12th (14:16) and Evan Foley in 14th (14:56).

In the girls' meet, Jessica Young was the top North Clay runner in sixth-place with a time of 14:00 as Cheyenne Mullenix was seventh in 14:16, Kourtney Johnson crossed the finish line in eighth (14:26) and Abby Gurchiek was ninth in 15:47. Also for North Clay, Chelsey Hines finished in 11th with a time of 17:00, Julia Smith was 13th in 17:43 and Izzy Shumaker was 14th in 17:58.

The Knights are back in action Saturday at Brown County.
