Knights win volleyball, golf and tennis road matches

SULLIVAN -- The Northview volleyball team posted its second conference win in as many chances on Thursday night with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-9 victory at Sullivan.

Brylie Riddell led a balanced offensive attack with 11 kills to go with six blocks. Shelbi Morris posted nine kills and two aces with McKenzi Kumpf adding seven kills and two digs. Mikayla Rowan added four kills, Morgan Stearley recorded four kills, a block and two aces. Hannah Willocks had two aces and three kills with Alexus Bex adding two kills and three assists. Both Madison McDonald and Taylor Hess had 16 assists for the Knights and Audrey Clark

The Knights improve to 12-4 overall and 2-0 in the WIC travel to West Vigo on Monday evening.

Northview tennis

SULLIVAN -- Northview picked up a conference tennis win on Thursday evening with a 4-1 victory at Sullivan.

Bryce Britton earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles and Skyler Holifield posted a hard fought 6-4, 7-6 (9-7) win at No. 3 singles.

In doubles play, Alec Coughanowr and Kyle Moore were 6-2, 6-4 winners at No. 1 and the team of Gaddis Baysinger and Damon Bass won a 6-1, 6-3 decision.

Northview competes in the Terre Haute North Tourney this morning beginning at 10 a.m.

Northview golf

GREENCASTLE -- Playing a difficult country club course in Greencastle, Northview came away with a 20-stroke win over the Tiger Cubs in a three-way meet that included Crawfordsville Thursday evening.

The Knights shot a 196 with Greencastle carding a 216 and Crawfordsville at 237.

Karlie Atkinson was medalist in the match with a 45 followed by Megan Heaton at 49. Kiersten Mikesell shot a 50, MaKenzie Brown carded a 52 and Sierra Girton had a 53.

Northview hosts Owen Valley Monday evening at 4:30 p.m.

Clay City


The Clay City Eels battled past Riverton Parke on Thursday evening, 25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 25-21.

Halli Brewer recorded 13 kills, five blocks, five digs, two aces and an assist. Callie Dayhuff had seven kills in the win to go with eight digs and Chloe Kittle had eight kills, four digs and a pair of aces. Emmie Kittle added nine digs, 21 assists and two service aces with Alyssa Yocom recording five assists, four kills and two digs. Kiersten Teagarden had a kill, a block and a dig and McKenzie McKittrick had a block and a kill.

In the junior varsity match, Clay City won 25-22, 25-11.

The Eels (7-3 overall) travel to Sullivan on Monday evening at 6 p.m.
