September is Hunger Action Month.
Terre Haute Catholic Charities Foodbank, a member of Feeding America, will join with its other hunger relief agencies to ask all in west-central Indiana to play a role in fighting domestic hunger.
Hunger affects communities all across the country -- rural, urban and suburban.
In the Wabash Valley, one in six individuals struggle with hunger.
Throughout the campaign, Terre Haute Catholic Charities Foodbank will call on all to take action. As a member of Feeding America, the nation's largest emergency food network, the local organization has teamed up with celebrities to tell the real stories of those struggling with hunger.
The organization will conduct a Hunger Action Month Breakfast and program Thursday, Sept. 13, at 8 a.m., at Terre Haute Catholic Charities Foodbank, 1356 Locust St., Terre Haute.
Speakers will begin presentations at 9:30 a.m.
The public is invited to the event. There is no cost.
