Wednesday, September 12, 2012

ROCKVILLE -- The fourth installment of Rock the Bridge is coming to the Rockville High School girls' gymnasium Oct. 18.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. This is a free community event.

This year's event will feature Remedy Drive, special guest Jeff Anderson, and speakers Brian Ford, Randy Davis and Brent Lacy.

Remedy Drive began in 1998, before signing with Word Records in early 2008.

In August 2008, the band released their first major label album, "Daylight Is Coming," which received a 2009 Dove nomination for Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year.

The first single from the disc, "Daylight," was voted the No. 1 music video of 2008 for the TVU Network.

The third single, "All Along," shot to No. 1 on the CHR chart for seven weeks and reached the Top Ten on the AC Chart.

Frontman David Zach reorganized the band in 2011 with Timmy Jones (drums), Corey Horn (bass) and Dave Mohr (guitar) and has released a new album, "Resuscitate," in September 2012. Two new singles from the project, "Better than Life," and "Resuscitate Me," are now playing on radio stations nationwide.

Jeff Anderson is a worship leader, singer-songwriter and a national recording artist from Columbus, Ohio.

His Christian hit, "Open My Eyes," from his album, "Seamless," charted top 10 and was nominated for a first round Grammy.

He was a worship pastor on staff at Vineyard Columbus for four years. Prior to that, he was the Young Adult Pastor for Calvary Chapel Boise.

This year's slate of speakers bring a combined 53 years of varied ministry experiences to the event.

Brian Ford is Team Director for the Ministry Xposed2Jesus.com, broadcasting a message of hope and redemption for students all over the country based out of Terre Haute.

Randy Davis is the Indiana Director for the National Network of Youth Ministries (NNYM) and serves in the local church in Indianapolis.

Brent Lacy is the Youth Pastor and writer currently serving in Rockville.
