In partnership with Clay Community Schools and the Linking Education to Adults, Adolescents and Preschoolers (LEAAP) Center, the Indiana Youth Institute will present a Youth Worker Café Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Clay Community Schools Central Administration Office, 1013 S. Forest Ave., Brazil.
A light supper will be provided by Indiana Youth Institute at 6 p.m., with presentations set to follow beginning at 6:30.
Lisa Coughanowr and Rae Anne Howald, Clay Community Schools Kindergarten teachers, will present the new kindergarten report card and suggest ways to prepare children for kindergarten.
Natalie Pugh, Community Alliances and Services for Young Children (CASY), Child Care Resource and Referral Manager, will discuss the foundation to the Indiana Academic Standards for Young Children and how they promote school readiness and personal success.
The training will provide activities and information to support developmentally appropriate learning for young children.
All youth workers, parents, preschool teachers, child care workers, educators, Sunday school teachers, others working to impact the well-being of local youth and interested individuals are encouraged to attend.
Door prizes will include children's books, computers and other gifts.
Those registering should include their name, agency and e-mail address of all those registered.
The registration deadline is Sept. 17.
