KNIGHTSVILLE -- The Knightsville Town Council's plans to honor a local soldier lost in battle are moving forward.

In honor of the late Spc. Arronn Fields, 27, Knightsville -- who died from injuries sustained during a rocket-propelled grenade attack May 21, in Afghanistan -- the council has already purchased a stone bench and is looking into a street dedication.

According to the council, the commemorative stone bench -- made for $300 by Fred Bault, Affordable Stone, Brazil -- has already been placed in Knightsville Park.

The council said it plans to schedule a dedication ceremony for a later date.

A street dedication or renaming is also in the works, with the council in the process of drawing up the documents necessary to complete the request.

The council is also looking into a company in Sullivan to do the commemorative street sign similar to the one Brazil did for the late Cpl. Gregory Scott Stultz.
