Huber performs at Paralympics

Local resident John Philip Huber recently performed at Olympic park near Olympic Village and Olympic Stadium for the Paralympics.
Local resident John Philip Huber, second-year graduate student at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff Wales, United Kingdom, performed at Olympic Park near the Olympic Village and the Olympic Stadium for the Paralympics Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012.

John, the son of Matt and Melanie Huber, performed with the Abergavenny Borough Brass Band under the direction of Craig Roberts.

They played jazz and rock arrangements for brass band during their two-hour performance.

Shortly after their performance, the Olympic Park was officially closed as this was the last day for the Paralympics.

Two to three thousands spectators attended the performance.

"Playing at the Olympic Park in London ... I have to say was the best gig of my life as a musician," John said.

According to reports, Peter Karrie, who portrayed the lead role in "Phantom of the Opera," shared the stage with the Abergavenny Borough Brass Band.

Other acts performing at the event included the Indian drum troupe Dhol2Dhol, female barbershop chorus The Belles of Three Spires and more.
