Twelve members of the Clay City Calico Quilters met Aug. 21, at the Pizza Gallery for dinner and to plan activities for the year.
Quilt programs will include lessons about Log Cabin quilts, circles and ways to utilize leftover scraps.
A powerpoint presentation of the 2012 quilt show will be viewed, and a workday, field trip and Christmas Party were also planned.
Each month, members are to bring a quilted item with a special theme or color to show. The September quilt item is something pertaining to autumn.
Officers were carried over from the previous year. The officers are President Karen Staub; Vice President Beverly Sampson; Secretary/Treasurer Kay Hart; Historians Kay Hart and Sandra Inman.
Tessie Cashman accepted the job of reporter.
Four members brought items for show and tell. Chloe showed a blue and white table runner made from a kit.
Rosemary had a challenge fabric to show from another group, and a reversible quilt as you go quilt made using triangles.
Mary Jo had an embroidered appliqué quilt, which was machine made.
Carol brought two finished scrap quilts for the club's CODA project.
The next meeting is Sept. 18, at 6 p.m., at the bank community room. Mary Lou and Pat will present the program on the History of Quilting. Everyone with an interest in quilts is welcome to attend our meetings.
