The proposed budget included regular budget items, as well as capital projects plan, school bus replacement plan and a levy neutrality proposal.
The board discussed the possibility of several capital projects for the 2013 year, including potential water tower repairs, roofing repairs and potential emergency repairs for damage done to boilers, heating and air conditioning, equipment and lighting.
Board member Ron Scherb asked about the possibility of expanding the parking lot at Northview High School for the convenience of those who attend football games and for the purposes of marching band practices.
Superintendent Kim Tucker said the board could look into it and possibly put a proposal together, if they find the extra space is needed.
The board voted 5-0 to adopt the budget.
The board meets regularly on the second Thursday of each month at the Clay Community Schools Administration Building, 1013 S. Forest Ave., Brazil.
Its next meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11.
