North Clay volleyball knocks off Clay City

The eighth-grade volleyball team topped the Eels by a 25-5, 25-16 score as Allison Herrick recorded a four assist, nine-service point, two ace evening for the Knights. Abby Conrad had two service points, Alisha Long had four assists and a point with Quinn Albright adding a dig. Linzy Lunsford had 11 points and two kills with Stacy Payton adding five points, two aces, two kills and both a dig and an assist. Madi Russell posted two points and one dig, Kerstie Shaw had five digs and five kills with eight aces in an 11-point night.

The seventh-grade Knights won in three games, 25-15, 22-25, 15-12 against the Eels on Monday.

Emily Yocom had 20 assists and Payton Kumpf added 14 for North Clay. Olivia Lundy, Elle Tipton, Maggie Mershon and Yocom each had three kills and both Sera Little and Daylin Boor had two digs. Tipton and Lundy led the way with 12 service points.

In the sixth-grade match, North Clay came away with a 25-6, 25-8 victory as Madisson Maffioli recorded seven service points and Katelyn Kidwell had five points. Gracie Messmer, Jenny Lundy, Kassidy Glassburn and Madeline Sinders each had four. Megan Heck and Maddie Ringo both had three service points. Alli Cook, Sinders and Glassburn each had a kill and Kasey Miller posted three assists.

North Clay hosts Cascade on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m.
