State Representatives Jim Baird (R-Greencastle) and Bob Heaton (R-Terre Haute) will host a meeting during the 10th Popcorn Festival of Clay County.

The meeting will provide information on a proposal to designate a portion of State Road 59 as a highway memorial to Orville Redenbacher.

Redenbacher was born July 16, 1907, in Brazil. He attended Brazil High School, graduating with academic distinction.

He attended Purdue University and graduated with a degree in agronomy in 1928.

Although Redenbacher died Sept. 19, 1995, his legacy continues receiving international recognition for his award-winning popcorn brand that was voted the nation's best-selling popcorn in 2005.

The meeting will take place at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7, at the Popcorn Festival of Clay County.

Popcorn Festival of Clay County President Evelyn Brown will also be in attendance.
