Habitat receives fund

Thursday, September 27, 2012

Habitat for Humanity of Clay County recently received $1,000 from UDWI REMC Community Fund. Habitat board members and REMC customers accepting the money included (front row, from left) Jane Jones and Joe Heffner, (back) Greg Runyon and Jerry Rector. Each month, participating members allow their electric bills to be "rounded up" to the next whole dollar. The spare change collected through "rounding up," is put into the Community Fund. Local not-for-profit agencies are encouraged to apply for grants that are distributed on a quarterly basis.
