Mary Jo Hite, 94, previously of Brazil, passed away Sept. 4, 2012.

She was born Aug. 3, 1918, to Wylie and Lottie Harper Roberts, in Mt. Vernon, Texas.

In 1978, she moved back to Mt. Vernon, Texas.

She had been in Kaufman Nursing Home since 2005, near her brother Wylie Roberts.

Preceding her in death were her husband Harold Hite and her children Patricia Jane, James Neal and Janice Eileen.

She was a member of Berea Christian Church.

She is survived by her brother Wylie Roberts Jr., and his wife Adeline, Kaufman, Texas, and her foster sister Dorothy Jean Harper, Arlington, Texas. Also surviving Mrs. Hite are her grandchildren Pam Paulis, Pasadena, Md., Tammy Rothrock, Brazil, and Gregory Hite, Los Altos, Calif., five great-grandchildren, two nieces in Texas, and numerous cousins in the Mt. Vernon area.

Mrs. Hite's funeral took place Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Harvey Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon, Texas, with burial in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
