The Northview volleyball team wrapped up a Western Indiana Conference title on Wednesday night with a dominating, 25-6, 25-10, 25-19 victory against visiting Owen Valley.
The Knights came out from the opening serve ready to take care of business according to Coach Scott McDonald.
"We came out of the warm-up extremely confident and ready to play. The way we played tonight in serve receive was a great sign of things to come for us," McDonald said.
Passing and defense were pivotal in the win as Audrey Clark had nine digs, Hannah Willocks provided four and Madison McDonald added five digs, three aces a kill and 20 assists. Taylor Hess added 10 assists to go with four digs, three aces and a kill.
"Audrey, Ashley and Hannah were phenomenal tonight with their ball control," McDonald said. "This allowed Taylor and Madison to really run the offense the way we like."
Offensively, the Knights got a kill and three assists from Alexus Bex and three kills from Mikayla Rowan, who also had an assist. Morgan Stearley added seven kills and two assists, McKenzi Kumpf posted nine kills and four aces with two digs. Shelbi Morris led the team with 12 kills to go with two aces and Brylie Riddell had six blocks, four kills and both an assist and a dig. Ashley Heck had three digs and an ace.
"Finishing the conference undefeated and winning for the fifth straight time is very rewarding for all of the members of our volleyball family," McDonald said. "That family is made up of current and former players, parents, and fans. This is a true testament to the work that so many people put in to make Northview volleyball what it is."
The Knights (21-5 overall, 6-0 WIC) travel to North Montgomery on Saturday for tournament play beginning at 10 a.m.
