The town council of Carbon met for its regular monthly meeting Monday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m.
Wastewater Operator Doug Clodfelter was present to discuss improvements in the town's water. Clodfelter said E.coli levels are down in the water and different water tests have provided good results.
Clodfelter also said the ponds in Carbon have cleared up since doing wastewater treatments. The board agreed, saying the ponds looked 85-95 percent better then they did prior to the treatments.
Town attorney Eric Somheil was also present to speak about the Brazil city water rates going up. The town agreed to try to absorb the costs they would receive from this increase instead of raising the water rates of Carbon citizens.
The board also approved the cumulative capital budget for 2013.
