Seventh-grade volleyball caps unbeaten season with title

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- North Clay's seventh-grade volleyball team competed at the Southmont Invite on Saturday and capped an unbeaten season with a pair of victories.

The Knights knocked off Northridge in a 25-20, 25-18 decision as Sera Little had six kills, Emily Yocom had five, both Elle Tipton and Olivia Lundy had three apiece and Lauren Swearingen had two. Lundy also had a block for the Knights and both Kennedy Ender and Tipton had three digs. Payton Kumpf posted eight assists and Yocom had nine.

Yocom led the team with 11 service points, Lundy had nine and Tipton tallied eight.

In the championship match, the Knights won a 25-5, 25-14 match against Southmont as Litttle had five kills, Lundy had three and Swearingen added three.

Dalyn Boor had two digs for North Clay and Yocom had 13 assists to go with three from Kumpf.

Maggie Mershon had 12 service points, Lundy had 12 and Hope Grady had eight.

The Knights finished with a 20-0 mark.
