Competing in Class B, Northview scored a 74.25.
Greenwood won the Class B title with a score of 76, with Jasper placing second at 74.55.
Plainfield was fourth with a 69.85, followed by Zionsville (66.25), Whiteland (65), Terre Haute South (63.65) and Columbus East (62.15).
Jasper won Best Music, while Greenwood also captured Best Visual and Best General Effect.
Zionsville won the People's Choice award.
The Clay City Imperial Regiment also took part in the Preview of Champions at Ben Davis High School, placing third in Class D action.
Other scores from the contest were not known at press time. Monrovia, Southridge and Lewis Cass also competed in Class D at the contest.
The Imperial Regiment also won the Best Percussion award at the contest.
The Marching Knights will continue Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) competition Saturday in the ISSMA Regional at Center Grove.
Northview is scheduled to compete at 2:28 p.m.
Other Class B bands taking part in the regional include Columbus East (11 a.m.), Evansville North (11:13), Evansville Central (11:26), New Palestine (11:39), Evansville Harrison (11:52), F.J. Reitz (12:05 p.m.), Bloomington North (12:18), Greenfield-Central (12:31), Whiteland (12:57), Terre Haute South (1:10), Mt. Vernon (1:23), Greenwood (1:36), Plainfield (1:49), New Castle (2:02), Jasper (2:15) and Floyd Central (2:41).
Awards for Class B will follow Floyd Central's performance.
The Imperial Regiment will compete in the Evansville Central High School ISSMA Regional Saturday.
Clay City will take the field at 12:18 p.m.
