Residents interested in helping the Clay County Humane Society (CCHS) should stop by Four Loving Paws Saturday.
The business, located at 965 W. Craig Ave., Brazil, will conduct a fundraiser for CCHS from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
"It can go longer, but everything will start at 10 a.m.," Four Loving Paws Practice Director Angie Downey said.
Downey told The Brazil Times the veterinary service came up with the idea to help raise funds for CCHS a few months ago.
"We wanted to do a grand opening event when we opened (in December)," Downey said. "We had an open house but we thought we wanted to do a grand opening, but we've been working so much with the humane society and now, Dr. (John) Shepherd (Four Loving Paws owner and operator) is on the (CCHS) board ... we just wanted to do what we could to help the animals, so we decided to turn our grand opening into a benefit."
Downey said an adoption event would take place during the fundraiser. Dogs and cats will be available for adoption inside and outside of the business. The dogs and cats are from CCHS.
In addition, she said a carnival would take place, which will include a cookout, silent auction, raffle, children's games and more.
Downey said six to 10 vendors would be at the event.
She said several items will be offered through the silent auction, including one-hour massages from certified therapists, collapsible kennels for animals, a two-month membership to Curves, a one-month membership to Fun Time Scuba, gift certificates for animal grooming and more.
Four Loving Paws will also give away free exams for any animal that is adopted.
"There's a lot of stuff," Downey said. "We just have a ton of stuff."
She said a pet photo contest will also take place and representatives from the business will also be looking for donations for CCHS at various intersections throughout the area Saturday.
Anyone who wishes to donate to CCHS through Four Loving Paws' Saturday fundraiser, but is unable to attend should call 448-1415.
