Clay County Soil and Water Conservation District Technician David Schroer recently presented the Clay County Commissioners with a 2012 Clay County Plat Wall Map.

Clay County Soil and Water is selling the 2012 Clay County Plat Wall Maps for $150.

The organization is also selling Clay County Plat books for $20.

Those interested in purchasing a book or map should stop by the organization's office, located at 955 W. Craig Ave., Brazil.

County plat books are books of maps listed alphabetically, showing the rural property outline of each parcel over five acres, number of acres and name of the landowner.

Additional information included on the county plat maps are township names, section numbers, range numbers, lakes and rivers.

The 2012 Clay County Plat Book also includes historic photos and maps, interesting facts about Clay County, a county road map, city maps of Brazil, Knightsville, Center Point, Bowling Green and Clay City, information on the no-till grass drill, maps and locations for cemeteries in the county and more.

THESE PLAT BOOKS ARE NOT ACCURATE FOR LAND OWNERS.I HAVE A PARCEL OF 50 ACRES WITH SOMEONE ELSES NAME ON IT IN PLAT BOOK. I WENT TO AUDATORS OFFICE AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD GET TO IT SOMETIME.THEY SENT THE PROPERTY TAX BILL TO ME WITH THE OTHER PERSONS NAME ON IT . I AM GLAD I HAVE THE DEED AND BILL OF SALE IN MY SAFE WHERE ITS BEEN FOR THREE YEARS.

If you have a DEED and BILL of Sale in your name dose that make it property?????

Most people have quick deed or titles now, either way if it isn't recorded it is worthless.
