The Harmony Town Council met for its monthly meeting Tuesday night and passed a resolution to reduce the 2012 budget, before adopting the 2013 budget. Resolution No. 91-2012 reduces the 2012 budget in order to fund the 2013 budget.
The reductions are:
* $6,300 from the Community Center,
* $5,000 from Local Option Income Tax (LOIT),
* $500 from Law Enforcement,
* $8,000 from Harmony Park Donation, and
* $5,000 from Storm Water Management.
The motion to accept the resolution was made and seconded, and it passed unanimously. Meanwhile, the council was presented with the 2013 budget for the second reading and Ordinance No. 3-2012 for adoption. The motion was made and seconded to accept the ordinance, and it passed unanimously. In addition, new Town Marshal Larry Pierce was formally introduced to the council and those in attendance.
Pierce took the oath of office on Sept. 5. Lastly, the council has decided the trick-or-treat dates and times will be Oct. 30 and 31 from 6-8 p.m.
