EVANSVILLE -- On Saturday, both the Clay City Imperial Regiment and Northview Marching Knights competed in Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Regional action, coming away with gold ratings.
The Imperial Regiment competed in the Class D Evansville Central High.
Competing in Class D, the Imperial Regiment was one of 15 bands earning gold ratings, including Paoli, Crawford County, Monrovia, Mater Dei, Southridge, North Posey, Perry Central, Tell City, Orleans, Springs Valley, Forest Park, South Knox, Henryville and South Spencer.
Clay City, along with South Spencer, Forest Park, Springs Valley, Orleans, Southridge, Mater Dei, Monrovia, Crawford County and Paoli earned the right to advance to ISSMA semi-state action.
Eastern (Pekin), New Washington and Southwestern also took part, all coming away with silver ratings.
Taking part in the Class B Center Grove ISSMA Regional, the Marching Knights also earned a gold rating, along with Bloomington North, Greenfield-Central, Whiteland, Greenwood, Plainfield, New Castle, Jasper, Columbus East, New Palestine, F.J. Reitz and Floyd Central.
Along with the Marching Knights, Floyd Central, New Castle, Jasper, Plainfield, Greenwood, Whiteland, Bloomington North, F.J. Reitz and New Palestine all earned the right to compete in ISSMA semi-state action.
Evansville North, Evansville Central, Evansville Harrison, Terre Haute South and Mt. Vernon (Fortville) all finished with silver ratings.
ISSMA semi-state competition will take place Saturday, 27. The ISSMA State Finals will take place Saturday, Nov. 3, at Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis.
Clay City and Northview do not have contests scheduled to take place Saturday, Oct. 20.
