The following is a list of upcoming area events as provided to The Brazil Times:

Coffee Talk

The Rotary Club of Brazil will host its monthly Coffee and Club Talk Friday, Oct. 19, from 6-7 p.m., at the Brazil Coffee Grounds Bakery and Coffee Shop.

The public is welcome to attend the event.

The topic of discussion will be, "Using Vocational Skills to Serve," and will be hosted by past president Susan Thomas.

The first regular cup of coffee for those in attendance will be courtesy of the club.

NMK Performance

The Northview Marching Knights will present a full uniform performance of the 2012 program, "Don't Give Up," featuring the music of Peter Gabriel at 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Northview High School football stadium.

Grandparents and those who do not wish to tackle the stairs or bleachers are welcome to view the performance from the track.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to park in the northeast corner of the "band lot," and use the gate by the hamburger grill.

There is also a photo opportunity with Northview Marching Knight members in uniform at 4:15 p.m.

Admission to the event is free.

Special Meeting

The Clay County Health Board will conduct a meeting Monday, Oct. 22, at noon, in the health office, 1214 E. National Ave., STE B 110, in the lower level of the St. Vincent Medical Office Building.

Chamber To Meet

The Clay County Chamber of Commerce will conduct its monthly meeting at noon, Tuesday, Oct. 23.

The meeting will take place at the Renaissance Reception and Conference Center, 101 W. National Ave., Brazil.

The featured speaker for October will be Jenny Strole with Terre Haute Youth League.

Bread Starter

All are invited to the Brazil Public Library at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, to learn how to make Sourdough bread starters.

The bread starter may be used as gifts in starter form or baked and given as a loaf of bread.

Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by Oct. 20.
