The Staunton Lady Volunteers are sponsoring a dinner Friday, Oct. 26, from 4-7 p.m., at the Staunton Community Center.

They will be serving ham and beans, cornbread, fried potatoes, desserts and a choice of coffee, tea or lemonade.

The cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children.

The Lady Volunteers are also planning a Craft Fair for Saturday, Nov. 17. The cost to set up is $15 if you use one of the center's tables, or $10 if you provide your own table.

Staunton First Christian Church News

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m., with worship service following at 10:30.

Doug Parkey is the minister.

Children's Church and Wee Worship meet at 10:30 a.m., in the Educational Building.

If you need transportation to morning worship service, please phone the church office at 446-3211.

Sunday evening service begins at 6 p.m.

Wednesday evening Bible Study and Prayer Group meet at 7 p.m.

In recognition of Pastor Appreciation Sunday, we will have a fellowship meal at the Staunton Community Center following morning worship service this Sunday.

Please bring a well-filled basket.

The center will be open before church to drop off food.

There will also be a card shower.

Children from Wee Worship and Children's Church will be going to the Bounce Barn in Terre Haute following the dinner.

The time is 2-4 p.m.

All children must have a permission slip signed by a parent.

Parents are also welcome to attend.

Trunk or Treat will be Oct. 27 at the church.

Staunton United Methodist Church News

Sunday worship service begins at approximately 10:45 a.m. Our pastor is Scott Aselage.

Remember the Community Food Pantry is open in the church basement from 3-5 p.m., on the last Wednesday afternoon of each month.

The next food pantry day will be Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome. We appreciate the support of all the churches, schools, civic organizations and individuals who help make this needed outreach a success.

Please keep praying for everyone who is battling illness as well as all the brave men and women of our military and their families.

Also remember in prayer all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals and those who have lost loved ones.

Go out of your way to be kind to someone and pray for everyone.
