Republican candidates for governor and lieutenant governor, Congressman Mike Pence and Sue Ellspermann, will pay a visit to Brazil during the Big Red Truck Tour Saturday, Oct. 27, at 10 a.m.

Pence and Ellspermann will talk with citizens from the tailgate of Pence's red truck at the grassy lot on the southeast corner of Vandalia Street and United States 40 in the lot next to Adamson's Laundry Mat.

The City of Brazil is one of nine stops the candidates will make the last weekend of October.

A lifelong Hoosier, Pence is currently in his sixth term as Congressman in Indiana's 6th District.

He and his wife, Karen, have three children and have been married for 26 years.

In Congress, Pence serves on the House Judiciary Committee, where he serves as Vice-Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Constitution.

He also serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee, where he is the Vice-Chairman on the Subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia.

He previously served on the House Agriculture and Small Business committee.

In May 2012, Pence selected Ellspermann to be his running mate.

Also a lifelong Hoosier, Ellspermann was elected to represent District 74 in the Indiana House of Representatives in 2010.

She served as Vice Chair of the Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee and was a member of the Small Business, Commerce and Economic Development Committee and Election and Apportionment Committee.

She is married to Jim Mehling, Assistant Principal of Forest Park High School. They have a blended family of four daughters.

All are invited to attend the event.
