St. Jude Children's Hospital will host Saddle Up for St. Jude Oct. 27-28, at the Poland Community Lions Club Park, Poland.
The ride will begin on the west side of the Eel River and proceed to Poland. In Poland, the group will rest at the park for a time of food, refreshments and fellowship before returning to the west side of the river.
The group will travel on back roads and on State Route 42.
There will be a cookout on the evening of Oct. 27, at Earl and Lois Outcalt's property near the Boy Scout camp before the groups camp at different locations in the evening.
Money raised from the event will be sent to St. Jude to help patients undergoing treatment for cancer. St. Jude spends more than 1.7 million each day to help children in need, and Saddle Up would love to help in their efforts to heal children.
Participants are encouraged to raise pledge money for this event. Shirts will be available for purchase and prizes will be awarded to those participants who raise over $150.
Horses need to be tied to trailers during the night and their vaccinations must be up-to-date.
