He was born April 4, 1934, in Clay County, to the late William David and Ruth Bernhardt McCullough.
He was a graduate of Ashboro High School and Pensacola Junior College.
McCullough entered the United States Navy in 1953, and retired after 30 years of service with the rank of Master Chief.
Survivors include the love of his life for 53 years Betty J. (Stoelting) McCullough, sons Monte McCullough, Pace, Fla., and Mark McCullough, Crestview, Fla., brothers Don Homer (Isla) McCullough, Center Point, and Jack S. (Nancy) McCullough, Brazil, sister Winnie (Jack) Knust, Cory, and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Jackson Township Firehouse, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Laura Smith officiating.
