The following is a list of upcoming area events as provided to The Brazil Times:


The Lady Volunteers of Staunton will host a community dinner at the Staunton Community Center Friday, Oct. 26, from 4-7 p.m. The meal will consist of ham and beans, cornbread, fried potatoes, desserts, coffee, tea and lemonade. Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children.

Shot Clinic

Due to a scheduling conflict, the Clay County Humane Shelter will conduct its final shot clinic of the year Saturday, Oct. 27, from 1-4 p.m., at the Forest Park Pavilion.

All shots will be available and will cost $10, including rabies shots, for both cats and dogs.

In addition, shelter representatives said they would have spay-neuter vouchers at a cost of $20 each.

Family Fun Night

The YMCA of Clay County, 225 E. Kruzan St., Brazil, will host its annual Y Fall Family Fun Night Saturday, Oct. 27, from 4-6 p.m.

The event is designed to be a "fun and safe way for families to celebrate fall." It is open to all children, teens and adults in the community.

Admission is one non-perishable food item (or $1 per person). The food item will be donated to local food pantries.

Trunk Or Treat

Monday, Oct. 29, at 6:30 p.m., the United Church of Christ and other community members will be having a Trunk or Treat in Clay City. Trunks full of treats will be set up in the Ford lot. Hot dogs, drinks and popcorn will be served on 7th Street. The R.E.I.N. Library will be open for children to make crafts.

Trunk Or Treat!

Serving On The Streets (S.O.S.) will host a Trunk or Treat event Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Forest Park Pavilion.

The organization is welcoming donations of goodies for the event.

Open House

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) will conduct a free open house Nov. 1, at 8:30 a.m., at the YMCA of Clay County. All males and females are welcome.

Fall Fest!

Fall Fest 2012 will take place Saturday, Nov. 3, from 3-7 p.m., at Christ Community Church, two miles north of Brazil on State Road 59. Pumpkin Chunkin, chicken racing, lumberjack games and more will be available.
