On Saturday, Nov. 10, Angelia's Salon and Spa, along with Timberman's Barbershop, will conduct a Cut-A-Thon.
All proceeds from the freewill haircutting event will go to local resident Stella Walker, who is battling cancer.
The event will take place from 1-3 p.m., at both locations, which are in the Primerica Building on United States 40, next to the Lark Theater.
"We will try to do as many haircuts in that amount of time," stylist Krista Wilson recently told The Brazil Times.
"This is a new fundraiser that is sweeping the nation."
Wilson said Angelia's Salon and Spa owner and operator Angie Pierce came up with the idea.
In addition, Wilson has been behind organizing efforts.
Wilson added Walker has been a client at the business for quite some time.
The event will be a first-come, first-serve basis.
Wilson said there will also be a silent auction going on and several area businesses have donated goods for the auction.
Members of Walker's family will also be on hand during the event.
