* Dead body discovered near county line
VIGO COUNTY -- According to officials with the Vigo County Sheriff's Department, an autopsy for a dead woman found at approximately 6 p.m., Saturday evening, near the Clay-Vigo County line will take place Monday.
On Sunday, Vigo County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Clark Cottom told The Brazil Times the autopsy was scheduled to be performed at 10 a.m., today, by Dr. Ronald Kohr.
Vigo County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a report of a dead body off a gravel roadway one mile north of State Road 42 near the county line at approximately 6 p.m., Saturday.
Information provided by the department stated a local fisherman saw the body while driving home.
According to officials, the deceased female appears to be Caucasian between 20-40-years-old, with brown shoulder-length "corn-row" styled hair.
Cottom said the woman was wearing black colored pants and dark colored shoes.
Cottom said the investigation is ongoing.
"We are working on it as we speak," he said Sunday.
He added the department is skimming through missing person reports as well.
"We are looking into that possibility," Cottom said. "We are working on that possibility."
Cottom said officials believed the body had been in the area for perhaps a week or more.
Officials with the Clay County Sheriff's Department were called for assistance during the investigation.
