Jackson Township Better Homes Extension Club
The Jackson Township Better Homes Extension Club met Oct. 25, at the Extension Office, hosted by Ellen Knox.
President Lauralee Hawkins called the meeting to order with Ruth Haas leading the Pledge to the Flag and Homemaker's Creed.
For devotions, Lauralee read, "Autumn."
Nine members answered roll call by telling why they like October.
The secretary's and treasurer's reports were read by Glenna Ogborn and approved.
Marilyn Bott led in singing, "You Are My Sunshine," and "Happy Birthday," to Marilyn, Glenna and Ellen Knox.
Purchases with the donation to the Exhibit Hall from the ice cream wagon profit were discussed.
Thirty-eight pillows and 20 bears have been made.
Indiana Homemakers Week was changed to Nov. 15. It will take place at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds from 1-3 p.m.
An open house will take place from 3-5 p.m., for retiring extension educator Peggy Davis.
Lauralee presented the lesson, "Understanding the New Lay Away Plans."
The closing prayer was sung. Shirley Koehler won the hostess gift.
Other members present were Carmen Jackson, Mary Kent and Rose Mary Price.
The next meeting will be at 1 p.m., Nov. 8, at the Extension Office.
