North Clay splits contests with Trojans

North Clay's seventh-grade basketball team got a complete team effort on Wednesday to pick up a 41-8 victory over West Vigo.

Brevan Harper had seven points with Logan Metz, Andrew Osborn and Jon Adams each scoring six. Bryson Kohler scored five points in the victory with Dylan Nussell adding four. Anthony Drury and Trevor DeOreo each had two points.

North Clay's eighth-grade basketball team dropped a pair of recent games, falling 35-28 to West Vigo and 33-18 to South Vermillion.

The Knights got seven points from Tyler Niemeyer in the loss to West Vigo with Layton Abbott adding six, Sam Gentry posted five and both Peyton Griffin and Trevor Cook had four points apiece.

Against South Vermillion, Niemeyer also led in scoring with seven points as Gentry had five and Keaton Butts scored three. Griffin had two and Cook tallied one point.

The seventh-grade Knights are back in action Monday at home against Woodrow Wilson with a 6 p.m. sixth-grade contest. The eighth-grade travels to Woodrow Wilson for a 6 p.m. contest on Monday.
