The Brazil Board of Public Works and Safety met twice this past week.
The board's regularly scheduled meeting took place on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m.
The board's first order of business was to pass a notice to proceed with the Craig Park Trail project. At a previous meeting, the board accepted a bid from Plant Brothers Excavating and Construction, and the board hopes work will begin soon on the park.
The board also addressed a new car wash adjustment. This past spring, the board phased out a 50 percent water adjustment area cleaners; the car wash adjustment would be similar in effect.
A few area business owners voiced their opposition to the adjustment; the board said it would look into the issue more and will discuss it at their next meeting.
The board also met for a special session on Friday, Nov. 16. The meeting was called to discuss the sale of NSP properties at 404 West Hendrix St., and 521 West Compton St.
There are buyers in place for both properties, and the board hopes to close on the sales soon.
The next meeting is Nov. 28, at 10 a.m.
