Operation Christmas Child began in 1993 and was established by Franklin Graham.
Troop No. 2242 is one of seven relays in Western District Ind., including Crawfordsville, Attica, Greencastle, Rockville and two locations in Terre Haute.
These cities and towns represent the other drop-off locations in the area.
The shoeboxes were filled with candy, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wash cloths, soap and more.
The boxes were delivered to a distribution center in Rockville.
The troop delivered approximately 60 shipping cartons with 10-12 shoeboxes in each. More than 700 shoeboxes were filled by the girl scouts.
From Rockville, shoeboxes from all seven relay centers were collected and transported to processing centers.
