Flora Irene Horn, 80, Clay City, passed away Nov. 23, 2012, at her home with her family by her side.

Flora was born June 15, 1932, the daughter of Ernest and Vinnie (Stanley) Fisher, Terre Haute.

She moved to Coal City at the age of 12.

She married James Dean Horn May 2, 1953. They moved to Hammond in 1956. She lived there until 1990. They then moved back to Clay City.

Flora was a member of Clay City Church of Christ and the Ladies Auxiliary Post 6606.

She was a loving wife and mother and a great cook. She enjoyed collecting dolls and working with the church and V.F.W.

She is preceded in death by her parents and son James Dean Horn II.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years James Dean Horn, Clay City, daughters Cora Flagg and husband Les, Jasonville, Beverly Pettis and husband Jim, Merrillville, Ind., grandchildren Brian Hopman, Aaron Pettis and wife Angie, Brandon Pettis, Patrick Flagg, Allison Kappas and husband Jeremy, all of Northwest Indiana, and great-grandchildren James and Jacob Pettis.

Service will be Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Wiley officiating.

Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, from 4-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
