Seasoned Wick co-owners Lori Brown and Tracy Chiles, along with other business owners along United States 40 in downtown Brazil, are inviting the public to "Moonlight Madness" Saturday.
Throughout the day, businesses along U.S. 40 will offer customers various specials.
For example, Brown and Chiles recently told The Brazil Times Lynn's Pharmacy, Blue Moon Gifts, Sisters Antiques and Collectibles, Coach's Time Out, Pappy's Barbecue, Lucky 13 and Laser Art Studios are all on board, in addition to several other businesses.
The goal, according to Brown and Chiles, is to see residents along the sidewalks of U.S. 40 downtown browsing and shopping locally.
The local restaurants and bars, according to Brown and Chiles, will be offering food and drink specials throughout the day while other businesses will be offering other specials.
In addition to the businesses, several vendors who take part in the Farmer and the Flea Market in the Davis Building will be open from 3-9 p.m.
Brown and Chiles got the idea of conducting the event after receiving good response from one they conducted on their own in August.
"We were busy until midnight," Brown told The Times. "This is about getting people back out and supporting local businesses."
According to both Brown and Chiles, not all the businesses will be staying open until midnight, but some will.
