Fuel leak accident on Interstate 70

Thursday, November 29, 2012

The Indiana State Police responded to an accident on Interstate-70 eastbound at mile mark 23 in Brazil Thursday.

Two freightliners, a 2004 truck operated by George Ringen and a 2011 truck operated by Barry Elliot, collided, causing one of the trucks to leak fuel onto the interstate.

The accident was called in at approximately 2:05 p.m., and TransCare and Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call, in addition to the state police.

According to Sergeant Cory Robinson, the gasoline was cleaned and normal traffic resumed at approximately 3 p.m.
