The Clay Community Schools Board of Trustees will meet for a special session meeting Tuesday, Dec. 4, at their central administrative building. The board will consider naming a new director of buildings and grounds.
Meeting Dates Changed
The Harmony Town Council will conduct its regular meeting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Harmony Community Center.
The last meeting of the month will take place Friday, Dec. 28, at the conclusion of the annual Christmas dinner for council and board members.
There will be no meeting in January 2013.
The first meeting for 2013 will take place at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the community center.
Associates of the Brazil City Garage will conduct leaf pickup throughout November and into December.
The following is the schedule for leaf pickup:
* Dec. 3-7 -- Northwest section of the city will be picked up.

Photos With Santa
Non-profit organization 911 Pet Rescue will host five Pet Pictures With Santa events in December.
Those interested in having their animals photographed with Santa Claus may do so at Clippity Do Dog, 8810 E. Wabash Ave., Terre Haute, Dec. 1, Dec. 8 and Dec. 15, from noon-4 p.m.
Cost is $6, which includes a holiday cardboard frame.
The other location is the Greencastle Veterinary Clinic, 810 E. Washington St., Greencastle, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14, from noon-6 p.m. Cost is $8, which includes a holiday cardboard frame.
Several local businesses on United States 40 in downtown Brazil will stay open later Saturday, Dec. 1.
The event, "Moonlight Madness," coordinated by the co-owners of Seasoned Wick, will feature area businesses offering residents various specials.
Several of the vendors of the Flea Market within the Davis Building will also take part in the event as vendors will be open from 3-9 p.m., Saturday.
A Christmas Walk downtown is also in the works.
A holiday bazaar will be sponsored by Friends of Holy Rosary Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at Schelley Hall, United States 40, east of the stoplight in Seelyville.
Baked goods and a variety of vendors will be available for holiday shopping.
Vendors include Watkins, Avon, Donna Sharp, Mary Kay, Scentsy, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Rada, fused glass jewelry and more.

The Brazil Elks Lodge 762 will host the Clay County Elks Hoop Shoot Dec. 1, at 10 a.m., at Eastside Elementary School.
Children interested in participating are asked to have their parents bring a copy of their birth certificate to help with paperwork needed for county winners who will compete in Rockville Jan. 20, 2013, at the District competition. For further information, call 448-2171.
The annual Tri Kappa Home Tour will take place from 1-5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2. Tickets are on sale and are $5 in advance. Tickets may be purchased at the main branch of Riddell National Bank.
The ticket price the day of the event will be $7.
Historical Society Meeting
The Clay County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m., Dec. 3, in the lower level of the museum.
The guest speaker will be Jim Albright, author of the book, "Last Guard Out."
The program will focus on Albright's time as a prison guard at Alcatraz.
The public is welcome to attend.
Clay Community Schools Central Curriculum Committee will meet Dec. 4, at 6:30 p.m., at Clay Community Schools Central Administration Office.
Items on the agenda include a review and vote on high school new course proposals, course changes and discussion related to the adoption of new elementary reading textbooks.

The City of Brazil will conduct a public meeting at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, at Brazil City Hall, 203 E. National Ave., Brazil.
During the meeting, the city shall open and publicly read all sealed proposals received for work related to maintenance for the city's well supply system, abandonment of an unused well and replacement of filter media at the Water Treatment Plant.

Family Fun Night
Forest Park Elementary will host its annual Family Fun Night Thursday, Dec. 6, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Forest Park students and their immediate family members are encouraged to attend.
Christmas dinner will be served and students will have an opportunity to make Christmas craft projects. Santa and his reindeer will also stop by for a visit and to take pictures.

The Community Theatre of Clay County, Inc., will present "Christmas At The Lark: A Tapestry of Light," Dec. 6-8, at the Lark Theater.
A dinner buffet will be served at 6:30 p.m., each evening, with the show beginning at approximately 7:15 p.m.
Cost to attend is $25. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

The Brazil Moose Lodge, located at 225 S. Depot St., Brazil, is hosting a spaghetti dinner on Friday, Dec. 7, from 5-7 p.m. The cost for a meal is $6, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Clay County Toys for Tots. The organization needs $500 more to reach their goal for this year.
The Indiana Blood Center will host a blood drive in December in Clay County.
The event will take place Dec. 10, from 10 a.m.-noon, at Holly Hill.
Indiana Blood Center hosts hundreds of blood drives each month.

Clay County Day!
Clay County Day in Bradenton, Fla., will take place Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013.
The 34th reunion and luncheon will take place at PIER 22 Ballroom, formerly the Mattison's Riverside Ballroom.
Letters will be mailed to past attendees.
Due to the increase in postage, letters will not be sent to those who have not attended the past three years.

In 2013, Habitat for Humanity of Clay County plans to build a new home with a Clay County family partner.
The home will be located at 703 S. Chicago Ave., Brazil.
All Clay County families who are interested in applying for the next Habitat home must attend the informational meeting, scheduled for Jan. 17, 2013, at 6:30 p.m., at the Linking Education to Adults, Adolescents and Preschoolers (LEAAP) Center.
Applications will only be available at the meeting.
Qualifications and requirements will be discussed.
The partner family will help build the home and pay a 20-year no-interest loan for the home.
