With one performance already under their belt, members of the Clay County Community Choir are gearing up for four more shows before Christmas.
Choir representative Lynne Nadolny recently told The Brazil Times this year, the group elected to perform the cantata, "The Name ... Jesus."
Nadolny said the cantata was written by Mike Speck.
"It goes through every book in the Bible at one point," Nadolny told The Times. "This cantata tells you what Jesus means to you personally and how many things he means to you personally."
The choir performed at the Bowling Green United Methodist Church Sunday, at 6 p.m., and has four more performances prior to Christmas, including:
* Monday, Dec. 3 -- Poland Historical Chapel, 7 p.m.,
* Friday, Dec. 7 -- Carbon Historical Church, 7 p.m.,
* Sunday, Dec. 9 -- Community Missionary Church, 6 p.m., and
* Friday, Dec. 21 -- Ashboro United Methodist Church (for a live nativity), 7:30 p.m.
The cantata is narrated by Rev. Mel Sorensen.
The choir's child soloist is Emelia Fischer. Additional soloists include Ruth Fischer, Sam Glover, Nadolny and Travis Terril.
